DIGIPAK - FINISHED!

This is my front cover.

Throughout making my digipak, constantly in the back of my mind were the codes and conventions. All of the features of a digipak were included such as, our band logo, song list, group photos, a colour scheme, album title and also the specific logos needed (DVD symbol, Record label and Compact disc logo).

I am pleased with the overall look of my digipak. I think each section works very well with each other. The main colour scheme was based around both the logo and the dress code for our Scandalous music video. The hardest part for me was researching what needs to be in a digipak, including the copy right information.

My digipak was relatively simple to make. The black and white images were made by changing the threshold. In some images, the threshold got rid of certain facial features, so I duplicated the base image and edited the duplicate image so the facial feature was present. The images themselves were pretty easy to edit as they were of high quality. The rose image used on my digipak was taken from our logo.

In terms of style of my digipak, I opted for the two discs. However, I decided to make a pocket for the DVD rather than a push in holder like for the CD.

My digipak at it's current state

This is the most recent screenshot of my digipak. I am in need of a long shot of Megan, so will do her silhouette once the photo has been taken.

At this stage I have added in colour to the inside left panel, and also added in roses taken from our logo. I have also used the same roses on the CD. I have made the silhouettes of Laura and Helen by deleting the background and changing the threshold to black. I then inverted it to make the silhouettes white.

This image simply shows me moving the 'Studded Roses' logo and making it bigger.

Front cover with me on it, but I didn't like how small the 'Studded Roses' logo was, as well as the album title.

This is where I was changing the threshold in order to make me black and white like the other girls.

At this stage, it shows the photo of me before I've changed the contrast.

Progress of my digipak

I took this screenshot to show the progress of my digipak. So far I have only taken photos of myself and laura, so when I have photographed Megan and Helen, it will be my next step to add them in. On my digipak I have researched what appears on the back and have customised what is written so that it is a recent date and applies to the label that my band are signed by.

Photoshoot on 25/11/2011

These are just a few of the photos that I took for my digipak. I liked the lighting in them, and I think the background worked well.

Photoshoot for my digipak

I am starting to think of a location for my digipak idea, but I'm not really sure if I should use the same location as featured in our video.

I have chosen to do a split screen as I liked this idea from when I was researching other girl band's front covers. To link the digipak together, I have chosen to stick with the whole 'diamond' theme.

I plan to find a white wall in which I can take photos of me and Laura during our free period on 25/11/2011. I will be taking photos of Megan and Helen at Megan's house, during filming on 25/11/2011. We will be filming from 6pm onwards, but I'm unable to get there until 7pm. They will film Laura's scene first, as I do not need to be present for that.

Planning a new digipak

I have now decided to change my idea for my digipak slightly, as I think doing a 6-sided one would be better. It will also allow me to be more creative.

I am sticking with the same Album name, as well as the typography I've chosen.
